George Bowering introduces Sheila Watson.

This clip of a longer tape consists of George Bowering introducing Sheila Watson as a guest speaker in his class at SFU, October 6, 1982. He positions Watson not only as being central to the Canadian literary canon, but also as a substantive innovator in the ways that she approaches fiction writing. He further suggests that she will be talking about “Modernism and about James Joyce.” This is a very complimentary introduction.—Klara du Plessis
